This snapshot was taken on a frosty, clear, and sunny winter day around Christmas next to Moscow´s main cathedral, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Hundreds of painters and sculptors were involved in its reconstruction, and last year the cathedral was the epicenter of the Pussy Riot scandal. In front of it two huge plasma screens were installed and speeches by the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church were shown. When I took the photo it was minus 27 degrees, so I couldn’t listen the whole speech, but I understood that it was being held in an Arabic country and that it was very much warmer there… Somehow I couldn’t take my eyes off of it and took this photo for you.
Unfortunately, I am not an artist, but evidently Church can be something very inspiring…
