We are happy to announce the short list for The School of Happiness Award. The professional jury members – the director of LENIKUS COLLECTION Angela E. Akbari, the curator at Bank Austria Kunstforum Mag. Heike Eipeldauer and the curator for contemporary art at Belvedere/21er Haus Bettina Steinbrügge – each chose three videos from all the applications that participants from Eastern Europe and Austria submitted.
Bettina Steinbrügge, curator for contemporary art at Belvedere/21er Haus, Vienna. Bettina studied art history, English philology, and comparative literature in Kassel. From 2001 to 2007 she was the Director of Halle für Kunst Lüneburg. After being a lecturer at the University of Lüneburg and the Kunstraum of Lüneburg University during the same period, she began teaching at the Haute école d’art et de design de Genève (HEAD) in 2009. Since 2007 she is a member of the program team of the Forum Expanded of the International Film Festival Berlin (Berlinale). From 2009 to 2011 she was curator of La Kunsthalle Mulhouse – Centre d’art contemporain, from December 2010 till the end of 2013 she is curator for contemporary art at the Belvedere/21er Haus in Vienna. As of January 2014, she will be the Director of the Kunstverein in Hamburg. Bettina Steinbrügge publishes regularly on contemporary art, in particular about art and the moving image. Since 2004 she has been a jury member of the Outdoor Gallery of the City of Gdansk.
