#VIENNALOVE | Carola Pojer

We continue to discover contemporary Vienna, and this time it’s all about fashion. Renown blogger and actress Carola Pojer of viennawedekind.com shares her favorite places in Vienna.

How would you describe Viennese style?
There are 2 kinds of personal styles in Vienna: the laid-back style: chic but not too daring. And the over-the-top style, influenced by Eastern European culture.

Who are the contemporary fashion designers from Austria to follow?
In my opinion Femme Maison and Petar Petrov are really inspiring.

If you have any fashion interested people visiting you in Vienna, where do you take them? What are the musts?
A stroll through the 7th district is definitely to be recommended. There you’ll find lots of cute boutiques and concept stores.

Do you still shop offline? Where in Vienna?
I must admit that I buy most of my clothes online, but I love buying stationary and souvenirs in Vienna. Especially at die Sellerie, Sous Bois and Kauf Dich Glücklich.

Does living in Vienna has any influence on your personal style?
Not really, I must say, I’m more drawn to the scandinavian simplicity.

What is important to develop good taste?
Feel confident and know who you are.

Where do you go for inspiration in Vienna?
I love museums, like the mumok or Kunsthaus Wien. Also strolling through the city is very inspiring.

What are your favorite movie theaters in Vienna?
I prefer small cinemas like the BURG KINO, Artis International, Gartenbaukino.

And where can one find the film crowd after hours?
I would recommend the CAFE KORB in the 1st district – it’s quite famous among actors and directors…

What is contemporary Vienna for you?
The contemporary heart of Vienna is located in the 7th district. Around the MuseumsQuartier, Burggasse and Neustiftgasse. You’ll find lots of modern concept stores, art galleries, boutique hotels and street festivals. Good vibes guaranteed!

Where one can find you during breakfast/lunch/dinner?
My favorite lunch spot in Vienna would be ERICH – the sweet potato bowl is delish! Tanzen Anders has great brunch deals and kaffemik one of the best cappuccinos. I even did a Vienna Coffee Guide on the blog, because I love coffee so much: http://viennawedekind.com/2017/07/02/vienna-coffee-guide/

What is your favorite building in Vienna?
The mumok – Museum of Modern Art.

Vienna has been selected as the most livable city for the 8th time this year. What makes it the best place to live in?
A great health care, clean streets, fresh air, lots of music & art, young creative people and a great public transport system.
