Every autumn, outstanding galleries, exciting newcomers, and established stars gather in the name of viennacontemporary – Austria’s art fair, which puts Vienna in the spotlight of the global contemporary art scene for an entire week. With its focus on Central- and Eastern Europe and its unparalleled service, viennacontemporary has managed to establish a unique position in the international art calendar and has become an indispensable event not to be missed by art aficionados and professionals from all over the world.

Again this year, a large number of collectors, curators, and art lovers travelled to Vienna in order to enjoy the selected program, which was presented in Marx Halle by around 110 galleries and institutions from 27 countries from 21 to 24 September. With a thoroughly high quality of works shown and great sales, viennacontemporary was able to continue its success run in its third consecutive year at Marx Halle.

Not least the comprehensive program surrounding the fair week ensured an exciting and informative art experience for young and old: Special presentations like ZONE1, Solo & Sculpture, Focus: Hungary and Nordic Highlights underlined the fair’s importance as a place for new discoveries and information about global art trends and developments. Annual accompanying programs, such as video presentations in the context of Cinema, inspiring discussions at the Talks Program, free guided Tours, and the Family Program provided for its visitors abundant and refreshing entertainment.

viennacontemporary wants to thank everybody involved for an amazing fair week 2017 and is looking forward to welcoming you again in September 2018.
